Many of which focus directly on setting yourself apart from
the crowd for your Paralegal Career. Creativity, Familiarity
and the LDA Bonus Course are all a part of the strategy –
and chosing the right category you're interested in is an
important strategy involving exploring new industry business
categories to apply your new Paralegal Career to. But
there's more to it than that as the one element that gives
you an edge is that of Familiarity. Familiarity to the
industry category you desire and if you want to apply your
career to the industry or go into business for yourself as a
Paralegal and LDA servicing these industries. The new
Paralegal Infographic illustrates these elements. Here are
some Tips and Considerations for those interested in dealing
in the Entertainment Industry:
TIPS on Marketing Your Paralegal
and LDA (Legal Document Processing) Services to Film
and Television
Considerations of Involvement in the
Entertainment Idustry Examples:
Entertainment Paralegals in Film - TV - Music Deal in a
Large Area of Specialties
Labor Law – Collective
bargaining agreements all touch on labor rules.
•
Contract Law – include performance and licensing agreements.
• Intellectual Property Law – Copyright and Trademark
Protection filings
• Business Law – Litigation
Protection, Incorporation and Reporting Requirements,
Commercial Transactions and More!
Paralegals,
especially those who have realized the benefit of having the
LDA so they can perform Legal Document Processing services
often work directly for film - TV - Music Studios,
Agencies,as well as Law Firms Specializing in the
Entertainment Industry
For actors, directors, and
other entertainment professionals, contracts may include
Performance based clauses that award them percentages of
revenue based on what they produce. Those Revenue Streams
Can Be Very Substantial as they may include
Royalties/Residuals from Merchandising - Video Streams -
Downloads - Personal Appearances - DVD 's and more!
International Royalties from Overseas Revenues also play and
important supporting role, and these are just a few examples
of the Revenue Opportunities.
• Limitations on
personal grooming standards and styles – Actors and other
entertainment personalities have a part to play, and
contracts they sign often hold them to certain standards of
personal appearance to ensure they can faithfully play their
role. This can include certain hair styles, weight and
fitness requirements, or even the clothing that can be worn
during promotional events.
• Standards of conduct as
in Morals clauses are common in contracts and remain in use
in some entertainment industry roles. The film productions
have a brand image to maintain and personal behavior that
contradicts that image is damaging and can lead to
punishment or termination.
Intellectual
Property Work For Creative Licensing
Paralegals often work on both sides of intellectual property
licensing for movies, books, and music for example.
Llicensing agreements for distribution or publishing and
handle the management and monitoring of the licensed uses is
common.
There's also the element of working with publishers to
obtain rights to certain pieces of IP, like when a
commercial director wants to use a particular song. A
paralegal working on behalf of the production company would
contact the rights-holder and negotiate the agreement to
allow the music to be used. Then there's the responsibility
regarding the handling of royalty distributions associated
with the license.

you approach 'any' company.
