work), administrative medical assistant (front office medical work),
and more; can also open avenues and doorways to create possibilities
in this field. Just as with some of our unique articles for those in
the Legal Field such as Paralegals, Legal Secretaries and Human
Resource, we provide some advanced and creatively unique possibilities
for advancement. There are also many available and open for those

One concern among all college students or those seeking to begin
taking courses in their new career endeavor is the size of the
classes. The Medical Assistant classes are kept to a very, what we
like to call, “Focused Group”, usually no more than 20 students per
class. This offers a tremendous one-on-one Learning advantage over
other courses that 'stuff em in there' to raise more revenues. Our
Legal Career courses have even been known to receive comments from
firms on occasion that students are almost over qualified; much better
than under qualified at any viewpoint.
Something to get you
excited!
For those of you who are considering a career in the
medical field an important note is that statistics show that Medical
Assistants were high on the list of occupations with the most job
growth, 2014 and projected to 2024 according to the BLS Bureau of
Labor Statistics. This evaluation put out by the BLS provides an
interesting look into job careers for those still deciding which one
to go with. Want more? The AAMA (American Association of Medical
Assistants) produced a report indicating that the Pacific region,
which demographically pertains to courses here at LAVC (Los Angeles
Valley College), showed the highest earnings for full-time current
CMAs and AMA's with averages of $34,652 annually. Also, employment
benefits show that roughly 94 percent of all full-time medical
assistants receive some form of benefits package from their employer.
When you successfully complete your MA course you will receive a
Diploma in Medical Assisting and will be qualify to take the national
test (NCCT). You will then be on your way to start your high paying
career in the medical field.
The Credentials to give you an
Edge
It is important to note that those with certifications are the
most highly sought, according to the AAMA. Employers often are not
just paying higher wages for the CMA & AMA, but also demanding that
their medical assistants have CMA and AMA credentials. This one
actually speaks for itself and all you have to do to see the
importance is simply consider the rising costs of medical malpractice
insurance and ensuring, to the best of their ability, a reduction in
that form of damage control. This one is not hard to understand the
reason for, Doctors’ offices, Hospitals, Emergency care providers,
private practitioners, etc., each have a tremendous amount of pressure
on them to protect against any such claim potentials or to limit best
as possible the occurrence.
While employers are seeking and
recruiting skilled health professionals because of their uniquely
diverse clinical and administrative training, you won't be spending
hundreds of thousands of dollars paying off loans before you start
earning a salary. There is even a Payment Plan to get you started!
