Who we're looking for:

An EXTREMELY motivated individual with a strong desire to work in the legal field. We are looking for a person who is well-organized, able to multi-task, is a team player, and able to work Monday through Friday, at least 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Some days it may be necessary to stay longer, depending on any upcoming deadlines. Paralegal certificate is not necessary; however, it is preferred. The ideal candidate has a desire to learn every day. At our firm, we expect 100% dedication; a person that doesn't wait to be given tasks, proactively asks what must be done next, and is extremely detail-oriented. Although the ideal candidate is expected to work quickly, he/she must also work extremely carefully. Thus, it is paramount to double and triple check your work. If you don't know this already, there is no room for error in the legal field.

What your work may consist of:

• Answering phones and faxing documents.
• Taking messages.
• Filing documents and organizing files.
• Opening new insurance claims with insurance adjusters, sending letters of representation, and inputting case data into our office case management software (Rocketmatter).
• Preparing certain court documents, such as notices, case management statements, summons, etc.
• Possibly drafting demand letters in personal injury matters.
• Scheduling meetings and court hearings.
• Reviewing and proofreading attorneys' writing. As such, it is important that the candidate have excellent grammar and writing.

With time, your job description may expand. We value those that think outside the box, always looking for ways to expand and develop our business, structure, and procedures.

Although this is not an easy job, it is an extremely rewarding job for the person who is hungry to develop both personally and professionally.
